Tony Cox was born on the 24th of January , 1954 in a tiny mining town called Redcliff in Zimbabwe. At the age of nine he began playing the guitar, having been taught Hawaiian guitar by Portuguese musician and friend Archie Perreira, and thus mapped out the life pattern which now sees him as one of South Africa's finest acoustic guitarists.
